Testimonials

Robert Foreman BMus FRCO FTCL Organist of St. Peter’s Church, Market Bosworth

"Superb craftsmanship, meticulous attention to detail and supreme artistry! I cannot fault Cousans Organs in any way and there was always a mug of tea and a slice of cake when I visited the workshop in Coalville. We now have more or less a new organ in the original and very fine 1893 case. It is fully electrified with digital transmission from a brand new console. The organ is a credit to Cousans Organs and a testimony to their skill and enthusiasm. "

Douglas J Clare Churchwarden at St Mary the Virgin Church, Bampton, Oxfordshire

"The organ in the Parish Church of St Mary the Virgin at Bampton, was made by William Gray and installed in 1812 and in the intervening years has been modified extensively. After due process, a restoration Faculty was obtained from the Oxfordshire Diocese in 2015.
Cousans Organs Limited were involved from the very beginning of the restoration process with the dismantling of the organ being carried out in 2016.
The original Faculty was superseded in 2019, following discussions with the Diocese about the scale of the work and our confirmed wish to retain the organs location in the South Transept.
The resulting organ you see here, has a remote linked console in the Nave but retains its original case and the gilded pipes, but has upgraded sound which now fills the Nave and compliments the choir.
Cousans have done an outstanding restoration project working with our Organ Consultant Paul Hale and ourselves, and the quality of their hand built, joinery work is amazing – the Church and congregation are well pleased!"

Will H. Light
Organist and Property Steward,
Earlsdon Methodist Church, Coventry

"Cousans Organs of Leicester have been involved in the maintenance of our organ at Earlsdon Methodist Church for about 10 years. During that time they gave helpful advice in the planning of a complete restoration of the organ which was over 80 years old and had not had any significant work done on it during that time. Cousans agreed a down-to-earth plan for the restoration, restoring and replacing that which was required but leaving those items which were still in good order, thus keeping costs to a sensible level.
Mr Ian Carter and his team worked diligently and with expertise on the project, which involved complete cleaning and repair of all the pipe work and re-leathering of major components; providing a new rebuilt console; provision of a new solid-state action and combination system and the addition of an extra pedal rank. The work was completed promptly and within the budget and I cannot speak highly enough of their competence and their customer relations. I can wholeheartedly recommend their services for work on pipe organs."
